Chicken Hotpot with Lemon Basil: Nau Tui
Hey, it’s him: Uncle Four: the kind of guy who never hides anything cool in his pants just for himself, but always wants to share it
He went up to Mang Den again, not to heal anything: he just wanted to kill time. On a drizzly day, nothing was better than sitting under the porch of Soc House: watching the rain, observing two male dogs playing together, sipping some docynia wine, and enjoying a few cigarettes
Time slowed down. He thought: if only the person beside him then were not Dung: his college best friend: but Her, he would certainly have paid no attention to wine, cigarettes, or rain. Indeed, he wouldn’t even have had time to notice if the dogs were male or female. He would be busy repeatedly measuring how big Her 4.5-span bust was. Her made him addicted
He was hungry, so he stopped by the chicken hotpot with lemon basil stall: Nau Tui: a place he had planned to visit for a long time. Because it was a weekday, the shop was empty. It was small and simply decorated, with only two condiment jars on the table: salt-pepper and fish sauce. The owner was pleasant: though naturally incomparable to Her
The chicken hotpot was delicious: the meat white as Her legs. The chicken portions served were neither too large nor too small, accompanied by mushrooms and lemon basil. Just that was enough to make him fall in love. He does not know why, but he always prefers simple things: perhaps so the beauty of the main ingredient is clearly revealed
He and Dung finished everything: a 200k hotpot for two, leaving no food left to photograph. It turned out that ordinary things accompanied by Her shadow are far more beautiful and fulfilling
